Everyone’s a winner with Skittles and Google Play

Skittles

Skittles has launched a new on-pack promotion offering consumers the chance to win a Google Play £5 credit.

Consumers enter a unique on-pack code online to find out if they’re in luck. Those who don’t win a £5 credit don’t go away empty-handed, but receive a free in-app item from the Google Play store. With an instant win on every pack, the promotion aims to drive incremental sales for retailers and bring new shoppers to the category.

The Google Play partnership will feature on all Skittles flavours including Fruits, Crazy Sours, Wild Berry and Tropical, across the 55g singles bags (rrp 49p) and 174g sharing pouches (rrp £1.28).

The launch is supported by an advertising campaign which runs throughout the promotional period, as part of the brand’s multi-million pound investment for 2016. The advertising includes an animated digital campaign exclusive to YouTube. Newly designed POS materials are available to retailers.

Dan Newell, Confections Marketing Manager for Wrigley, said: “We’ve had huge success with previous entertainment-linked campaigns and we expect this activity to drive a 5% increase in sales. With this in mind, retailers should ensure their range is well stocked in order to profit from this promotion and increased brand awareness.”

Limited edition Skittles Google Play packs are available now, with the competition ending on 31st December 2016.
