Cathedral City unveils its first flavoured plant-based soft cheese

Cathedral City Spring Onion and Cracked Black Pepper Alternative to Soft Cheese

Cathedral City has expanded its ‘Our Plant Based’ range by releasing a Spring Onion and Cracked Black Pepper Alternative to Soft Cheese, which is available now in 170g packs with a £2.50 RSP.

The new snappily titled product comes as sales of plant-based soft cheese continue to grow year-on-year, and soft cheese finds itself the fourth most in-demand format in the Cheese category after block, sliced and grated.

Neil Stewart, Head of Marketing for Cathedral City at Saputo Dairy, said: “At Saputo Dairy UK, we think all cheese and cheese flavoured products should taste great. Our cheese experts have created a new format and flavour profile which is enjoyable for those with dairy allergies or who want to reduce their dairy consumption.”

Plant-based alternatives to cheese are now worth £58.6m and bought by 8.3% of UK households.
