Toblerone goes for gold

Toblerone Gold

Toblerone has expanded its range with a new limited-edition Golden variant.

Toblerone Golden combines the crunchy nougat of a traditional Toblerone with a golden blend of caramelised white chocolate that has been newly developed for the UK and Ireland.

Caramelised white was the biggest chocolate NPD in 2021 by more than double the second place NPD, worth £18.5m RSV.

The launch is backed by PR activity and in-store support.

Mondelez said the new product is perfect as a seasonal gift, helping retailers to drive premium sales and trade-up, and will appeal to younger adult shoppers.

It advised retailers to range the new singles in designated confectionery fixtures alongside existing Toblerones to maximise both planned and impulse sales.
