Highland Spring plants a tree for every employee

Highland Spring has found a novel way to celebrate its partnership with the Woodland Trust – it has planted a tree for every employee, 405 in total.

Highland Spring is in the midst of planting the saplings on its 350 acres of land on the Ochil Hills, Perthshire, to show its support and commitment to the Woodland Trust, the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity, which has a goal of doubling the UK’s native woodland cover by 2050 and protecting and nurturing Britain’s precious indigenous woodlands.

Les Montgomery, Chief Executive of Highland Spring, said: “Maintaining and protecting our natural environment is at the heart of everything we do at Highland Spring. The Woodland Trust is a wonderful charity which works incredibly hard to conserve the UK’s most beautiful woodlands and we are delighted to make a contribution to their goal by hosting today’s tree planting day. Planting a tree for every Highland Spring employee goes some way towards showing how committed we are to our partnership with the Woodland Trust.”

Carol Evans, director of the Woodland Trust Scotland said: “The partnership between the Woodland Trust and Highland Spring is extremely beneficial to our charity. They are helping us to inspire and engage with people of all age groups and discover the wonders of woodland. The company’s generous support is helping us to continue our important conservation work to protect our precious heritage of ancient woodland, as well as creating new woodland across the UK with a view to doubling native tree cover by 2050.”
