Spar customers turn up heat on social media for mass ‘Sparbecue’

Spar has held a mass barbecue – or Sparbecue if you will – to promote its range of own-label products.

Five hundred customers were given Spar brand products to host barbecues in their own homes for groups of their friends. Parties took place simultaneously across the entire UK to showcase the brand’s range of fresh food, wine and barbecue essentials.

The initiative resulted in around 5,000 target customers taking part, with many taking to social media to share pictures and comments of their parties using the #SPARbecue hashtag.

Comments on Twitter included: “Great #SPARbecue at my daughters. Thank you to Spar for the delicious food and a lovely evening of wine and laughter”; “Have to say what delicious food and wine our local #SPAR has to offer, don’t believe me try for yourself!” and “Held #SPARbecue yesterday. Food was amazing and everyone had full tummies. Amazed by the quality of the food and drink. I’ll definitely shop at Spar again!”
