The well-known Sadiq retailing family celebrated the historic 30th birthday of their Spar store in Renfrew today (22 March) with a huge celebration in-store.
SLR joined the celebration alongside hundreds of customers of the multi-award-winning store, who were handed goodie bags and given the opportunity to win prizes and sample product at supplier stands around Spar Renfrew.
A large contingent from Spar Scotland wholesaler CJ Lang was also in attendance as were representatives of numerous suppliers for a day of fun at the consistently impressive store.
This year also marks the 40th anniversary of the Sadiq’s family business, making it a double celebration.
Saleem Sadiq told SLR: “It’s hard to believe that we’ve had the business for 40 years and this Renfrew store for 30! Where has the time gone? But it’s been a brilliant 30 years, thanks to our amazing staff and customers. This day is really for them.”
Never one to rest on his laurels, Saleem says he is currently in the midst of preparing for a full refit of the store. He says he has some innovative new concepts under consideration, as he fully intends to keep Spar Renfrew at the forefront of the local retailing sector in Scotland for a long time to come.
