Prestige for Polmont at ignite awards

Polmont retailer Abdul Sattar was glowing with pride when his Spar store picked up the ‘Most Improved Retailer of the Year’ gong at last week’s Imperial Tobacco ignite awards.

“We are very pleased to receive the Most Improved Retailer of the Year award,” said a delighted Abdul. “It has been a great pleasure to work with the Imperial Tobacco team in growing our Tobacco product lines and increasing sales.”

The awards ceremony – which included aerial acts, magicians, a dynamic string quartet and Bollywood dancers (pictured) – was preceded by an exhibition showcasing Imperial’s key brands. Here, over 350 members of the independent trade listened to former England Cricket Captain Nasser Hussain OBE talk on the skills required to build a team and drive it to success.

Melvin Ruigrok, Imperial Tobacco General Manager UK & Ireland, said: “The success of the awards represented by the gala celebration tonight, prove ignite is a key tool for outstanding retailers and an exceptional platform for Imperial Tobacco to work together with the vital independent channel. Congratulations to the winners, and I look forward to seeing ignite go from strength to strength in 2017 and beyond.”

Retailers wishing to find out if they are eligible to join the ignite programme should speak to their Imperial Tobacco representative for more information.
