Pott simmering

Men wearing hairnets

The news that logistics provider XPO has taken over warehousing operations for Britain’s favourite cereal brand, Weetabix, is not normally the sort of stuff that gets Under The Counter’s puny pulse pounding.

However, the picture that came with the story gave him no end of amusement. Of course, he had an obligatory chuckle at the PPE on display. The man who is tired of laughing at a bloke in a hairnet is a man who is tired of life, in the Auld Boy’s opinion. As for the chap with the beard snood – for that is the technical term – well, who would be a hipster in the food industry?

That wasn’t the best bit though.

What really got UTC’s shoulders shaking were the personalised Weetabix boxes. No, not the one offered to XPO boss Dan Myers. Check out the bloke in the background with the tight-lipped smile – which is probably the result of a lifetime spent enduring endless ‘Stew Potts’ jokes.
