Ready meal brand McIntosh of Strathmore is set for an exciting September with the launch of a range of new products available to stores in Scotland now.

It’s been a busy year already for the brand with the launch of its Sausages & Mash in collaboration with Simon Howie and its Spicy Mexicana Macaroni Cheese Pies, but this next level of NPD sees McIntosh extend into new sub-categories for the first time.

“We have created the perfect solution to allow consumers to enjoy our best-selling ready meals on the go with our new McIntosh Food-To-Go Pots,” explained John Buttar, Foodservice & Wholesale Manager at Strathmore Foods.

The food-to-go pots are branded, can withstand any oven, come complete with lids and forks and can hold in hot cabinets for up to four hours ready for customers to grab and go.

“This is a great opportunity for businesses with a food-to-go area to jump on the success and popularity of the McIntosh of Strathmore brand,” said Buttar.

“Additional to our current offering we’re launching a new premium tier brand to the ready meal category. The first of these to hit shelves will be a McIntosh Select Hot Roast Scottish Salmon Pasta.” McIntosh KIdz range

“We’ve been working on this product for some time, so it’s great that our loyal customers will finally get to try it. We’ve added a new colour to the packaging, so it stands out from the rest of our lines and the product is hand finished at our factory in Forfar, which adds a special touch.”

McIntosh is also releasing a range of children’s meals, which it says is the first of its kind for a Scottish ready meal brand.

Buttar continued: “We’re always complimented on our ability to create a great homemade taste in a convenient ready meal, so we’re excited to now offer that for children too. We’ve also come up with some new and innovative flavours.”

“The meals have been created for children of three years and over. Our product development team has done a great job with our new ‘Kidz’ range as we’ve managed to make great tasting products with all the nutritionals important to parents: low salt, at least one of their five a day, low in saturated fat and a good source of protein.”
