The trend for flavoured whiskies appears to be spreading into the rum category, as Halewood International launches a cherry variant for its Lamb’s Spiced range, which will be available throughout the On and Off Trades.

Lamb’s Spiced Cherry (ABV 30%) is made from 100% Caribbean rum blended with spices, wild cherry and almond flavours, and is packaged in the brand’s traditional hexagonal shaped bottle.

Halewood says the new variant has been launched in response to increasing consumer demand for flavoured spirits in addition to the continued growth of the golden rum category. The launch will be supported by a number of consumer PR and social media initiatives.

“Consumers have told us that they enjoy Lamb’s Spiced’s smoother taste but are also looking for sweeter alternatives,” said James Wright, Head of Spirits and Agency Brands at Halewood International. “We believe our cherry variant offers a genuine point-of-difference combined with a recognisable flavour.”
