Too Good To Be Gluten Free has won the Free From Bakery Product of the Year Award at this year’s Baking Industry Awards for its gluten-free pork pie.

Sam Benjamin (pictured right), Brand Manager at Too Good To Be Gluten Free, said: “For any food brand, being a finalist in these national awards is a huge coup and so to go on and win is a fitting testament to the high standard of pork pie product we have developed that you wouldn’t expect would be achievable in a gluten-free market.

“Since launch, our pork pie has seen an incredible response. As the star performer out of our 13 products, it has contributed 40% of growth to the brand in the past year. It has helped drive our best year yet with 118% growth in sales volume and a 74% increase in turnover for the brand.

“The aim is for the pie to provide a flavoursome instant food option for coeliacs, but also to capitalise on the growing lifestyle market. In fact, statistics show that while 1% of Brits are coeliacs more than 13% choose to avoid gluten as a lifestyle decision.”

The Too Good to be Gluten Free Pork Pie uses high-quality British pork, seasoned and encased in a hot water crust pastry and retails at £2.
