Premier Carrick Stores, based in Dalry, North Ayrshire, could be set to extend by 142sq m under plans lodged with the local authority.
The expansion would be made possible by making use of the vacant flat next door to the premises on Sharon Street.
The plans would see a change of use of the ground floor flat to enlarge the store and the erection of a replacement single-storey extension to provide additional retail floor space and storage space.
In addition, the plans include the installation of an ATM and new signage.
The plans are pending consideration.
