Crossgates Post Office reopens

Crossgates Post Office, in Fife, reopened this week in the Costcutter store on Main Street.

The newly agreed opening hours will see customers able to use the facility between 10am and 3pm, from Monday to Friday. However, it will not be available on weekends.

Bob Sharp, Post Office Network Lead, said: “We are delighted to have restored Post Office services to Crossgates as we know how important a post office is to a community.”

Earlier this year there were fears that Crossgates could lose its post office as the postmaster looked to step back and the matter was raised at a community council meeting.

The current post office opened in March 2021 after the previous Crossgates branch closed in 2017 when the postmaster resigned. During that time, mobile services were introduced, providing service twice a week from Cowdenbeath.
