Ben & Jerry’s ‘frees chunks’

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Chunks

Unilever brand Ben & Jerry’s has launched a spin-off from its Cookie Dough ice cream flavour: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Chunks.

As the name suggests, the new product contains chunks of dough only, thus saving so-called ‘chunk divers’ the effort of digging them out of ice cream with a spoon.

The dough chunks come in 170g bags (RSP £4), each with six servings.

As they are made using pasteurised eggs and heat-treated flour, the chunks are safe to eat raw.

“Ice cream fans have been calling out and asking us to ‘free the chunks’ for a while now, so we’re delighted to be able to give them what they want!” said a Ben & Jerry’s spokesperson. “During a test in the US, bags flew off the shelves! Now, dough fans in Europe can get a chunk of the action.”
