Mackie’s of Scotland is producing around 75,000 litres of ice cream a day as it responds to increased demand across the UK.
The Aberdeenshire ice cream maker said the daily output was equivalent to around one million scoops.
Mackie’s is now bought by more than a quarter of households in Scotland and has attracted more than 300,000 new customers since summer 2025 as its distribution has grown across the UK.
The range, produced at Mackie’s 1,600-acre family farm at Westertown in Aberdeenshire, includes Traditional Vanilla, Honeycomb, Chocolate and Raspberry Ripple.
The business is using additional storage and dispatch capacity at its Kintore facility to handle increased volumes and respond to peaks in demand. The site expansion was supported by a £1.5m funding package from Bank of Scotland.
Mackie’s recently reported record turnover of £24.8m, up 11% year on year, alongside a 3% increase in profits for the financial year ending May 2025.
