French’s relishes the barbecue season

With the summer looking as if it might just be here and interest in US cuisine showing no signs of abating, world food and drink importer Empire Bespoke Foods has launched a trio of American-inspired relishes from the condiment manufacturer French’s.

Aimed at the independent, convenience and speciality food sectors, the new arrivals include a Texas Jalapeno Tomato Relish, a Californian Sweet Onion Relish and a New York Deli Relish, which are all described as “ultra-versatile and perfect for burgers, chops, sausages, steak, sandwiches, wraps, cheese and an array of BBQ fayre”.

The new lines come in 320g (315g for the New York Deli Pickle Relish) easy-squeeze plastic bottles and are available through a range of cash and carrys, regional wholesalers and directly from Empire Bespoke Foods. The products come with an rrp of £2.99.

The new French’s Relish range consists of:

  • Texan Jalapeno Tomato Relish – a recipe inspired by the cooking of the Lone Star State, this relish provides a blend of sweet and heat
  • Californian Sweet Onion Relish – paying homage to the Golden State, this relish offers subtle crunch and sweetness
  • New York Deli Pickle Relish – from the Empire State, a classic pickle offering gherkin with plenty of crunch and tang
