The Dole Sunshine Company, a producer of packaged fruit products and healthy snacks, has announced a partnership with Dutch cycling team Jumbo Visma.

Dole will provide the bike bashers, including the UK’s Thomas Gloag and Anna Henderson, with a selection of healthy snacks to be consumed as part of their training and nutrition regime or as an on-the-go snack during race days. The team’s headquarters will also be stocked with fruit snacks all year round.

The Tour de France, which began on 1 July, marks a three-week period when cycling captures the attention of sports fans around the world and will be watched by an estimated 3.5 billion people, making it even more popular than the World Cup. Team Jumbo is currently rated number two in cycling’s world rankings and features stars like last year’s Tour winner Jonas Vingegaard.

Isabelle Spindler, General Manager Europe of The Dole Sunshine Company, commented: “We are delighted to be partnering with Team Jumbo Visma.

“Our healthy fruit snacks will be an important way for the team to incorporate additional vitamins and fibre into their diets, which we hope to play a small part in helping the riders enjoy a successful Tour de France.”
