Regular readers of Under the Counter will know that he was cruelly robbed of being named maker of the best Scotch Pie in the world last year when Mrs UTC forgot to post his entry form. Well, a year is a long time in pie making, and this year’s contest has just been announced with none other than Bay City Rollers front man Les McKeown on board as a judge. Les said: “I was honoured to be asked to join the panel of judges for this iconic competition. The contest is a hard fought one and we’re looking for something really special that stands out from the crowd.” Now, all UTC has to do is get cooking and… (the competition was on 13th November, winners to be announced in January.
