McCain targets adult market with two new products

McCain baby baked potatoes and sweet potato fries

McCain is growing its range aimed at adults, with the launch of microwaveable ‘baby’ baked potatoes and sweet potato fries.

McCain Baby Baked Potatoes are lightly seasoned with sea salt and black pepper, carry four green nutritional indicators and take three minutes in the microwave to cook.

Sweet Potato Fries have been launched following significant consumer demand. “Sweet potato has seen a rapid growth in popularity with consumers and it’s a big favourite in the casual dining sector,” said McCain Marketing Director, Mark Hodge.

Hodge concluded: “Consumer insight tells us that one and two person households take inspiration from out-of-home dining when cooking at home. This new product development aims to inspire frozen potato purchase in this group by offering a variety of products that reference the latest food trends and feature interesting flavours, seasonings and cut types.”

McCain Sweet Potato Fries (500g, rrp £2.50) and McCain Baby Baked Potatoes (700g, rrp £2.50) are available from this month onwards.
