Glenmorangie has unveiled a new 25-year-old single malt, praised by actor Harrison Ford as a standout expression of the Highland distillery’s signature style.
The Altus 25 Years Old – named after the Latin word for “high” – is a permanent addition to Glenmorangie’s core range. It combines whisky matured in bourbon casks with a portion finished in Malmsey Madeira wine casks, resulting in a profile rich in fruit, spice and sweet butter-candy notes.
Ford was among the first to sample the whisky during filming for Glenmorangie’s brand campaign Once Upon a Time in Scotland.
The Altus is described as having aromas of carnation, orange blossom and honey, with flavours of mandarin, peach, pear, marzipan and ripe banana, balanced by a tart note of gooseberry.
It completes a trio of flagship expressions in Glenmorangie’s core range, alongside the Original 12 Years Old and Infinita 18 Years Old.
