Estrella Damm turns to the dark side

Dark bottle of Estrella Damm

Estrella Damm will be sporting a new shade this month, as a darker glass version of the bottle hits shelves.

There’s a sound scientific reason for the makeover. The new darker glass used gives the beer 30% more protection from light exposure. This means the bottle will travel and store better and conserve the beer’s taste.

Charles Wells imports Estrella Damm to the UK. The firm’s Marketing Manager for World Beers, Genna Burchell, explained: “Estrella Damm is still brewed in the heart of Barcelona to the original 1876 recipe using only 100% natural Mediterranean ingredients which gives the beer that distinctive flavour that drinkers love.

“Light exposure can change the taste of beer and so we’re delighted to be introducing this new darker bottle which will better preserve that authentic Mediterranean taste until each bottle of Estrella Damm reaches the lips of UK drinkers.”

Estrella Damm is one of the UK’s fastest growing premium world lagers, and is also available in cans.
