Campo Viejo moves out of the red

Rioja brand Campo Viejo is introducing its first ever Viura-Tempranillo Blanco, launching exclusively in the UK.

The new white wine will be available to the impulse and convenience channels from May at an rrp of £9.35.

Carlotta Colkin, Campo Viejo Senior Brand Manager at Pernod Ricard UK, said: “This is a huge step forward for the brand. We know that consumers trust Campo Viejo as we already have the number one Spanish red wine brand in the UK, and will be aiming to replicate that success on the white wine fixture too.”

Campo Viejo Winemaker Clara Canals added: “We are confident that Tempranillo has the potential to be a flagship for Rioja in both red and white wines, and we are delighted to be launching this exciting new wine exclusively in the UK.”

Campo Viejo Tempranillo, the best-selling red wine in the UK off-trade, is growing by +7.1% value and +2.5% volume, while Campo Viejo Reserva has seen sales rise by +34.7% (value).

The launch will be supported be a summer-long digital media campaign and a suite of in-store POS materials.
