Bud launches hunt for Britain’s best barbecue chef

Top chef and barbecue expert Neil Rankin has launched Budweiser’s latest campaign, a nationwide hunt to find Britain’s best barbecue chef.

King of BBQs coincides with National Barbecue Week, and is looking to uncover the UK’s ultimate BBQ hero as new research has revealed more than half of the UK think Australians are best at barbecues, with Britons in second place and Americans third.

Would-be barbecue experts can submit a video or photograph of them showing off their grill skills to the Budweiser website to be in with a chance of winning a brand-new luxury barbecue.

Isabelle Maratier, Senior Brand Manager at Budweiser, said: “Budweiser has always had a strong link with BBQ, with many young people citing us a brand they associate with BBQ  in research. Because of Budweiser’s strong BBQ heritage, we wanted to create the Budweiser King of BBQs competition to reveal the UK’s unsung star of the grill – someone who can inspire everyone in Britain to take their BBQing to the next level and show the nation what it takes to create the ultimate BBQ.”

Neil Rankin added: “Anyone can BBQ, but it takes a King to get it right – the meat, the temperature, the technique – and I can’t wait to uncover some of Britain’s BBQ heroes with the Budweiser King of BBQs competition. We’re ready for the nation to show us what they’ve got.”
