The Borders Distillery has launched Deep Time, the fourth and final expression in its blended whisky Workshop Series.
The limited-edition bottling has been created to mark 300 years since the birth of Scottish geologist and farmer James Hutton and is inspired by his work exploring the relationship between land, water and time.
The Hawick distillery said the Workshop Series has allowed it to experiment with flavour, cask combinations and distillation techniques while helping to shape future single malt releases.
Deep Time was created using the same batch of spirit first distilled for the distillery’s 2019 Workshop Series release. The distillery said the whisky demonstrates how the spirit has evolved through maturation, delivering notes of apple tart and peach alongside a long finish.
Only 750 bottles of Deep Time will be available. The whisky is bottled at 40% ABV.
