Police have warned retailers in Argyll and West Dunbartonshire to be on their guard for counterfeit notes in circulation in the area.
On receiving a note shopworkers are advised to check for spelling mistakes, wording, changes to the hologram, serial numbers and watermarks.
Anyone who deliberately uses counterfeit currency is committing a crime and the police will investigate all instances reported to them.
If you suspect you may have received one of these notes or have information about those using them you should call the police on 101.
