Two further arrests have been made under Operation Dynos, as Retail Crime Taskforce officers believe that vulnerable young people are being targeted to steal alcohol from stores across the west of Scotland.

Last Thursday (3 September) a 62-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman were arrested and charged human trafficking offences in the Glasgow area. They were due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday (4 September).

Constable Paul Steell said: “We remain committed to tackling retail crime, while continuing to safeguard young people from harm and coercion into criminal behaviour.

“We will continue to gather evidence and use all resources at our disposal to tackle this type of crime.”

The number of adults arrested in connection with the criminal exploitation of children and young people as part of Operation Dynos since April 2025 now stands at nine.
