Bestway Direct launches multiple account drive

Paul Courtney

Bestway Direct, the delivered operation of Bestway Wholesale, is expanding into the supply of multiple accounts.

Bestway already delivers in excess of £650m to its Best-one symbol and delivered accounts every year and the introduction of a Lifetime Cost Benefit model will allow multi-site retailers of other symbols and unaffiliated groups to analyse their businesses and demonstrate the true cost of doing business with Bestway in comparison to their current suppliers.

Paul Courtney (pictured), Head of Multiple Accounts for Bestway, is confident that the time is right for this expansion. “The right infrastructure has been put in place over the last year or so including a new chilled distribution centre, an increase in personnel resource to service and help multi-site retailers – as these operators have often very different needs to single site owners, a root and branch review of chilled, fresh and food to go offering and an investment in a new fleet of vehicles to ensure that we give the best possible support to multiple accounts.”

He added: “Our Bestway Direct Lifetime Cost Benefit model will factor in all the necessary considerations that will be levied against the operator’s business such as the cost of goods, investments, rebates, fees and surcharges. The model will then build an accurate and transparent report on how switching to Bestway Direct will add value while driving down operating costs for each potential partner. The retailers that I have spoken to want a simple and clear visualisation of the benefits we can bring to their businesses. I believe that this Lifetime Cost Benefit approach plus the unrivalled range that we offer throughout the Bestway and Batleys estate will help multi-site operators trade more profitably and further establish Bestway Direct as a highly credible force in the supply chain.”

The company is looking for operators who wish to develop their offering across four or more sites with a single procurement contact.
