Sale of c-stores shows “confidence returning to market”

Churchills Keystore in Falkirk

The Churchills Keystore in Falkirk has been sold to multiple operator Martin McColl, while the third and final of Ayrshire’s Drinks Cellar & Much More c-stores has also changed hands.

The Keystore had attracted a lot of interest, said David Higgins of Cornerstone Business Agents. The previous owner sold up to concentrate on other business interests.

All three Drinks Cellar & Much More stores traded under the Premier banner, and were sold to three different buyers who will all look to develop the existing trade. Two of the purchasers were adding stores to an already existing portfolio of units whilst the third was bought by a first time buyer.

Derek Burgoyne, also of Cornerstone, said the purchases were indicative of further confidence returning to the market.

“Cornerstone have significant demand for stores of this ilk in almost all areas across the country,” he concluded.
