Arran Brewery receives SALSA quality accreditation

Arran Brewery has become one of only three breweries in Scotland to achieve SALSA accreditation.

SALSA stands for “Safe and Local Suppliers Accreditation”, and is a food safety certification scheme. Certification is only granted to suppliers who are able to demonstrate to an auditor that they are able to produce safe and legal food and are committed to continually meeting the requirements of the SALSA standard.

As Arran Brewery has expanded its production and is now raising funds for its own bottling facility, the company has had its focus on quality recognised and has been awarded SALSA accreditation.

Veronica Michaluk, Arran Brewery Manager, said: “We have not done anything new we are simply ensuring that what we do is properly recorded and that our records match the SALSA standards.  It is increasingly important, in the environment of food security, for an independent assessment.

“This external scrutiny shows the world that we produce beer to the very highest standards.”

The brewery’s new offering “Sleeping Warrior” was named the UK’s best Barley Wine at this year’s World Beer Awards.
