When the captain came ashore in Kirkcudbright

Captain Morgan’s Spiced teamed up with wholesaler JW Filshill last week to give one lucky Scottish retailer and their customers a treat last Saturday (27th Oct),  when Captain Morgan himself visited the store to give away some of his treasure.

The winning store, following a Facebook competition was KeyStore Kirkcudbright and so the Captain duly made his appearance.

Ian McDonald, Sales & Buying Director at JW Filshill said: “We’re delighted at how well the Captain Morgan’s Spiced competition has worked. This is the first time that we have asked consumers to vote to reward their favourite Scottish store. Not only were we able to engage with consumers but it offered a fantastic opportunity to give back to a hard-working retailer and its local community.”

Captain Morgan’s Spiced, which has value sales of £51m in Scotland, launched its first ever TV advert this year. The advertising campaign, which went live in September, is set to reach five million consumers and triple the brand’s media awareness in the UK.
