United Wholesale Scotland’s (UWS) first London depot, United Rainham, has marked its first anniversary with a record-breaking day of trading.
The event brought together retailers, supplier partners and colleagues, plus Day-Today mascot Baggsy, to mark the occasion. The depot recorded its biggest-ever sales day, with footfall up 19% and sales up 26% year on year.
Since opening in 2025, United Rainham has become an important part of UWS’s London growth plans, while expanding its Day-Today symbol proposition in the capital.
Chris Gallacher, Managing Director of United Wholesale Scotland, said: “Today was a very humbling experience. I spent the day with both retailers and suppliers, and it was brilliant to hear first-hand that we are doing a great job for them.
“When retailers tell you that UWS has helped grow their business over the past 12 months, it makes us even more determined to continue this journey alongside them and our supplier partners. That is what this depot is all about: creating a place where everyone can grow together.
“It was also fantastic to see more London retailers joining our Day-Today symbol group. The quality of stores we are attracting is first class, and that gives us huge confidence for the future.
“I want to thank every supplier, retailer and colleague who helped bring this day together. When we launched Rainham in 2025, people said it would be difficult to replicate the energy and impact of the opening event — but we have managed to do it again.
“What a first year it has been. But we will not become complacent. We need to keep pushing boundaries, listening to our retailers and suppliers, and continually improving. That is how United Rainham will go from strength to strength.”
The celebration comes after UWS reported a record-breaking annual Day-Today and usave trade show in Scotland, where retailer attendance rose 34% and sales value increased 39% year on year. UWS is also progressing plans to open another depot in England in 2027.
