The Macallan has launched A Night on Earth: The First Light, the fourth release in its annual series marking global New Year traditions.
This latest limited-edition single malt celebrates one of the first sunrises of the year, in New Zealand.
Crafted from sherry seasoned American and European oak casks, complemented by American oak casks that previously held bourbon, the whisky offers a flavour profile of berry compote and toasted marshmallows, with a nose of Manuka honey and a mellow oak finish. It is recommended served long or paired with desserts such as pavlova.
The packaging features artwork by New Zealand illustrator Bonnie Brown, inspired by coastal barbecues, beach bonfires and blossoms of the Pōhutukawa tree, also known as the New Zealand Christmas tree. Her designs appear across three layers of packaging representing sunset, celebration and first light.
A Night on Earth: The First Light is bottled at 43% ABV and has an RSP of £99.
