Speciality Brands has introduced three new expressions from cult Japanese whisky producer Chichibu: Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu 10-Year-Old, Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu Distillery II, and Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu The London Edition 2025.
Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu 10-Year-Old is the distillery’s second age-statement single malt since ‘The First Ten’ in 2020. Matured for a minimum of 10 years in ex-bourbon barrels, it showcases Chichibu’s fruit-forward style with notes of orange peel, peach and redcurrant, finishing with white pepper and roasted malt.
Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu Distillery II is the debut release from Chichibu’s second distillery, established in 2019. Aged between four and five years in various cask types, it offers a honeyed texture with custard, cinnamon and nutmeg, followed by a smoky barley finish.
Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu The London Edition 2025 is the eighth release in the UK-exclusive series. This year’s edition blends 10 casks of Japanese single malt, including two heavily peated casks, and delivers notes of mandarin, ginger, vanilla custard and subtle smoke on the nose, with candied citrus, dark chocolate and brown sugar on the palate, finishing with dried fruits and warming spice.
The bottle label features the second design in the Musha-e Series, created by Elixir Distillers’ Creative Director Raj Chavda. The glow-in-the-dark artwork depicts a warrior facing the Tora – the Japanese tiger – symbolising strength and courage.
