Spar Scotland and Rollover donate £4,000 to Marie Curie

Spar Scotland and Rollover have donated £4,000 to Marie Curie after a successful promotion during December.

The promotion, which ran from 1-31 December, saw 10p from the sale of every Rollover product sold in Spar Scotland’s 80 company-owned stores donated to the charity. Spar Scotland match-funded the donation and provided a further £2,000.

Stephen Brown, Head of Food-to-Go at Spar Scotland, said: “It was great to partner with Rollover on this campaign to help our national charity partner Marie Curie. By working together, we were able to boost sales whilst raising vital funds for Marie Curie.”

David Dewhurst, Regional Manager for Scotland at Rollover, added: “I am so pleased the success of our promotion and partnership with Spar Scotland has benefitted a great cause and charity – Marie Curie. A big thank you to all our customers who supported us by buying our hotdogs and to SPAR Scotland for partnering with us and for match-funding the donation.”

Christine Connor, Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager at Marie Curie, said: “The support of the campaign enables Marie Curie to reach more people and their loved ones in our communities who need our care and support as they approach end of life.”

In addition, the Spar Scotland team at the Dundee depot did some extra fundraising over the Christmas period and raised £600 from the staff Christmas raffle.
