Racetrack reveals UK retail’s 1st chilled nicotine pouch display

The innovative Racetrack team has introduced the first chilled oral nicotine display in UK retail at their Strathclyde store, providing “an elevated pouch experience”.

The £15,000 bespoke Snus Daddy display unit is 2.5m wide and 3.6m tall, surrounded by neon lights and digital screens and holds nearly 200 SKUs. Pouch sales have already seen double digit growth of 15% since the display was installed, with consumers perceiving the chilled pouches to provide a smoother, more flavoursome hit.

“We’ve been working with [oral nicotine] brands like Pablo and Killa and they’d all require promotional space. Pouches were mixed in with our Vaped4U fixture and I wanted to make it more of a standalone feature,” explained Retail Manager Guna Sud, who came up with the idea.

“For a few months I’ve been researching what’s been emerging in Europe and I saw the concept in Sweden,” he told SLR.

He tried out the idea with his teammates. “I chilled some pouches in a normal fridge and tested it with staff who already use nicotine pouches. The feedback was great, so I started on the design.”

He made several tweaks along the way. “We had screens built on top, but I stood back and I said I needed it bigger. We’ve added additional LEDs too and a feature in the middle for enhanced promotional space.”

Sales have shot up as a result. “The site is super busy at the moment, pouch sales are up 15% … I think that’s mainly due to the fact it’s more impactful now. Some of the new sales are in new brands – Fumi and XQS, which have been promoted in the central area.”

He claimed that pouch sales had already exploded ahead of the display’s launch, especially in the group’s student-centric Strathclyde store, so it was a no-brainer to make this the launch pad for the new unit.

If sales continue to perform well, he plans to roll the displays out to Racetrack’s other larger sites in 2026.
