Bestway Wholesale has launched a new bottled water, Mount Aqua.
The new British spring water, sourced from the Pembrokeshire hills, is available in 500ml (screw top and sports cap) and 5-litre take home format.
Ed Smeaton, Director of Trading at Bestway Wholesale, commented: “Mount Aqua is the latest addition to the Bestway Wholesale portfolio of refreshing waters. The water category continues to outperform the soft drinks market as a whole, growing at 7%. As well as recently lowering our WSPs by over 15% for the best-one Mineral Water Range, we felt that the launch of an everyday spring water, with British credentials, would give customers an additional opportunity to compete in the bottled water category, especially given the consumer trend towards health and the launch of the Sugar Levy on soft drinks.”
Mount Aqua, which is available in non-price-mark bottles, has an RSP of 50p/59p for 500ml screw/sports cap and £1.99 for the 5-litre take home pack.
Smeaton added: “Mount Aqua is all about providing everyday hydration for shoppers while ensuring that retailers make significant profits. At just over 9p retailer cost per 500ml bottle, we believe that Mount Aqua is the best product in the market for delivering on profit. On a case of 24 standard 500ml bottles and pricing at RSP, retailers can make over £8 profit (80% POR) and £1.06 (64% POR) on the 5-litre variant which is truly sector leading in terms of profit delivery.”
