Metcalfe’s skinny launches Popcorn Crisps

Metcalfe's skinny Popcorn Crisps range

Metcalfe’s skinny has launched a Popcorn Crisps range, which is gluten free and has up to 35% less fat than tortilla chips.

The range comprises three flavours: Kettle Original tastes of melted butter, black pepper and lemon; Sweet Chilli delivers a hit of chilli with tomato; Say Cheese features cheddar cheese and paprika.

The 30g packs have an rrp of £1 and contain only 37 calories per serving, offering a healthier alternative to crisps.

Unlike traditional deep-fat frying methods, Popcorn Crisps are created through a flash-griddled process. The kernels, oil and salt are dropped into triangular-shaped moulds, where a combination of pressure, temperature and moisture pops them.

Max Rees, Managing Director of Metcalfe’s Food Company, said: “We are enormously proud to be bringing Popcorn Crisps to our customers. The Metcalfe’s skinny brand has grown enormously in the past couple of years so this is an extremely exciting time for the brand to be extending our innovative product range. Our aim is to deliver the most innovative, best quality and tasting, light, corn-based snack products in the market.”
