Jisp retailers ‘thriving’ despite UK recession

Jisp says retailers using its Scan & Save app are thriving despite the UK slipping into a technical recession after a 0.3% drop in GDP in the last quarter of 2023.

Retailers have already seen returns of £900k in the year so far through Jisp’s Scan & Save, with the app encouraging repeat visits to stores through discounts that are available everyday of a promotional period.

Jisp’s top three performing stores – Pak Supermarket, Nisa Colley Gate, and Best One Avondale – have racked up almost 150,000 redemptions between them since the start of the year.

Esther Lawrence, Jisp’s Retail Director, said: “Scan & Save is helping retailers offer a genuinely rewarding loyalty package to their customers, which given how pinched budgets are currently is having the added benefit of keeping shoppers coming back more often.

“The discounts and reward customers can earn exceed many offered through the nation’s supermarkets, and the footfall, sales and margin driving nature of the app means retailers reap the reward as well. It’s a win-win scenario.”
