Imperial Tobacco appoints new UK General Manager

Imperial Tobacco UK has appointed Eugene Walsh to the role of UK General Manager. Walsh will replace Amal Pramanik who has moved to become Divisional Director with Imperial Tobacco Group.

Walsh, who will take up the post next month, joined Imperial Tobacco Group in March 2003 based out of Moscow. Since then he has held several senior roles including Sales and Marketing Director Russia and Sales and Marketing Director Ukraine, before being appointed General Director, Ukraine and Moldova, in 2010.

As General Director, he oversaw the operations of the largest British-owned company and one of the biggest taxpayers in Ukraine, employing over 500 people.

Prior to joining Imperial Tobacco Walsh held a number of senior executive positions in sales and marketing with various international FMCG companies, including 14 years at Diageo. He has lived and worked in many different parts of the world but predominantly within Central and Eastern Europe since 1997.

Commenting on his appointment he said: “I am delighted to be joining Imperial Tobacco’s flagship market and very much look forward to meeting and working with our UK business partners.”
