Henderson Technology has launched EDGEPoS ESELs, an electronic shelf edge label system which integrates into its EDGEPoS system.
The tool uses electronic display modules fixed to the front edge of shelving to display specific product pricing that can be instantly changed from the back office.
As well as reducing the time and cost for pricing management, the system improves pricing accuracy and allows for dynamic pricing.
The tech has already been deployed in two stores in Northern Ireland, including Smyth’s EuroSpar in Ballymoney.
Samuel Smyth, the store’s co-owner, said: “The EDGEPoS ESELs have been a huge success. Not only have they saved us on average 20 staff hours every week, we are now noticing a 1% margin increase every three weeks.
“One of the biggest differences I have noticed is the change in the staff attitude to promotion changes. They actually look forward to them now. The extra time allows us to focus on our stock and it has allowed us to change how we operate in certain areas, with the implementation of suggested ordering across the store.”
