GroceryAid gets new fundraising chief

Andrew Moore

GroceryAid has named the new President of its Fundraising Committee. Andrew Moore (pictured), Asda’s Chief Merchandising Officer, will take over from Jason Tarry in April 2016.

Commenting on his new position, Moore said he was “honoured” to be taking on the role on behalf of Asda. He added: “GroceryAid does important and fantastic work helping colleagues in our industry and we are proud to continue our relationship with the charity.”

Moore began his career at M&S and joined Asda in 2008, following a year as a Retail Consultant in South Africa. In January 2015, he was promoted to Chief Merchandising Officer. His remit covers Food, Clothing, Home and General Merchandise.

Gillian Barker, Director General of GroceryAid, commented: “We are delighted that Andrew has joined GroceryAid as our President of Fundraising and that Asda is continuing its great support of the charity. With Andrew on board it gives us a fantastic opportunity to build on our fundraising base and help even more grocery people in need.”
