Glasgow retailer, Girish Jeeva, has called RetailAI’s new Smart Watch “a real game changer”, helping him to reduce theft and improve operations.
The watch is synced up to RetailAI’s anti-shop theft system and can instantly send staff videos of suspected shoplifting incidents, as well as aiding team communications and task delegation.
“Alerts reach the smart watch much faster,” said Girish. “Giving every team member access [to a watch] means information can be viewed instantly, without relying on a tablet.
“One standout improvement is that the smartwatch eliminates the need for a headset—team communication can now happen seamlessly through AirPods.
“Another impressive feature is the default task actions, which allow teams to be directed based on how busy the store is at any given moment.”
The functionality of the watch is not just limited to RetailAI anti-theft, but can also be used for staff to quickly communicate with each other. For example, when a driver arrives to pick up a Snappy Shopper delivery, a simple press of a button can alert the pickers. “Before, the driver would tell the till staff and if they were busy they might forget to inform the picker and then the orders were getting late,” explained a staff member. “But now the orders reach the customers nice and quick.”
The watches can also be used to assign jobs to staff members, who can then alert managers via their watch when the task is completed.
“It’s smart, efficient, and incredibly practical,” said Girish. “Watch this space—this is only the beginning.”
