CJ Lang makes mammoth piece offering

Charity workers

Dundee-based Spar Scotland wholesaler CJ Lang & Son has donated 8,000 sandwiches to good causes around the city.

Charity Dundee Bairns, which works to ease the problem of ‘holiday hunger’, distributed the sandwiches via a network of community larders, community fridges and food banks.

“We are immensely grateful to CJ Lang,” said David Dorward from Dundee Bairns, adding that the donation came at an “unprecedented time of worry and food insecurity for so many people across the city who already teeter on the edge of coping.”

CJ Lang’s foodbank partner Gate Church was also given stock to help those in need around Dundee.

The wholesaler’s boss Colin McLean said: “At times like this it is very important to think of those in our local area who could need our help. We hope these donations will help a number of disadvantaged families at this time.”
