Bournville backs block

Cadbury is taking a trusted classic to a new format this December, with the launch of a new Bournville 100g block.

First launched in 1908, the Bournville range currently comprises 45g and 200g formats, with Bournville 200g the best-selling dark chocolate SKU in the country.

The new 100g tablet aims to inspire more usage occasions for consumers, such as a sweet treat in the evening at home, and to encourage new customers to try dark chocolate through a more accessible purchase point. This latest addition to the range is priced at rrp £1.42 and comes in cases of 15.

Matthew Williams, Marketing Director at Mondelēz International, said: “Bournville is already worth £12 million3 with only two formats and we’re hoping to grow sales even further with the latest addition to the family. The 100g format is new format is a great fit for smaller households or to share with a partner, while the 200g is ideal for larger families and cooking. The brand has a strong following, particularly among the 45+ demographic, and we’re hoping to delight loyal fans and new customers alike with a new way to enjoy dark chocolate.”
