Wrigley has been named ‘Supplier of the Year’ at Sugro UK’s annual awards, held recently at Gleneagles Resort in Perthshire.
Wrigley Impulse Account Manager, Ben Jilbert (pictured), who accepted the award, put this down to “a strong 18 months of head office collaboration and member engagement”.
“At the beginning of 2016 we refocused our impulse business to work more closely with Sugro UK, after consecutive years of double digit decline,” explained Jilbert. “Initially, we conducted meetings with the management team to identify new opportunities and ideas collaboratively. We then used category insight to establish a competitive plan and built this into Sugro UK’s existing activity and promotional schedule.
“Once this was in place, the key to our success has been working directly with and supporting the members, at a local level, to implement, and maintain regular contact to really build those relationships. This approach has helped us to return to growth in 2016, with a plan to accelerate this growth in 2017.”
Philip Jenkins, Managing Director of Sugro UK, added: “We’ve been thrilled with the united approach from Wrigley this year. The team has really reached out to our members to listen to their needs and issues, and the results have been fantastic. A very worthy winner!”
