Spar Scotland reveals plans for tradeshow in 2024

Colin McLean

Spar Scotland’s annual tradeshow and conference will return to the MacDonald Hotel and Resort, in the heart of Aviemore and the Cairngorms National Park, on 26 September 2024.

The event brings together Scotland’s leading symbol group Spar, independent retailers and company-owned store staff, CJ Lang & Son employees from support functions, and suppliers to highlight and celebrate new products and identify future opportunities with Spar in Scotland.

The tradeshow, conference and celebratory programme will feature speakers from CJ Lang & Son, Spar UK and Spar International and more than 200 FMCG exhibitors, with over 850 delegates in total.

Colin McLean, Chief Executive of Spar Scotland said: “The theme for 2024 is ‘Raising the Bar’ and once again we will have a few surprises in store for those attending. Our tradeshow will be supported by business presentations where we will share future plans for our continued growth. The Spar Scotland Awards will return for a third year, and we will host a gala dinner. The evening festivities will be rounded off with a live band, entertainment, and plenty of dancing.

“With over two hundred suppliers exhibiting this year, this event is hotly anticipated, and we expect demand to be high, so we are urging everyone to register as soon as possible – it will be on a first come, first served basis! This event promises hands-on networking opportunities like no other in the Scottish convenience retail market.”

Headline sponsors for the annual event have once again been confirmed as Pepsico.

Jennifer Lea, National Account Manager – Spar, Pepsico, said: “The event allows us to proactively engage with independent retailers, company-owned store managers and central support teams, as well as contacts from across the industry, in Scotland, the wider UK and even internationally.

“We are really looking forward to supporting the event once again through our headline sponsorship and it is exciting to see invitations for the event already being issued.”
