Post Office signs five-year deal to expand Banking Hubs

Banking counter transaction

Post Office has signed a new five-year agreement with Cash Access UK to continue operating Banking Hubs across the UK.

The business already operates 200 Banking Hubs and will play a central role in delivering on the Government’s ambition to have 350 Banking Hubs operating by the end of this Parliament.

With millions of people and small businesses relying on access to cash every day, Post Office branches alongside Banking Hubs are increasingly becoming the only place for many local communities and small businesses to do their everyday banking as bank branches continue to close across the country.

The five-year contract starts on 1 January 2026 and extends the partnership with Cash Access UK. It coincides with the start of Post Office’s new Banking Framework agreement with 30 of the UK’s largest banks and building societies. These agreements ensure that local communities can continue to access and deposit cash at thousands of Post Office branches across the UK.

Earlier this month, the 200th Banking Hub was opened in Billericay, marking an important milestone for both Post Office and Cash Access UK.
