Police Scotland names new Head of Retail Crime Taskforce

Chief Inspector Jordan Low_Police Scotland_Retail Crime Taskforce

Chief Inspector Jordan Low will be replacing DCI Jackie Knight as Head of Police Scotland’s Retail Crime Taskforce.

In his 20-year policing career, Jordan has worked in a range of local and national roles in both uniform and for the Criminal Investigation Department.

Most recently, he led the National Acquisitive Crime Preventions Team, working across Scotland in conjunction with partners to reduce acquisitive crime across our communities.

Chief Inspector Low said: “It’s a great honour to take over as Head of the Retail Crime Taskforce and I can’t wait to get started.

“My intention is continue the outstanding work that has been undertaken in the last 12 months to tackle retail crime, improve retailer and public confidence in our policing response to such offences, and increase the number of arrests and detections in this area.

“My thanks go to my predecessor, DCI Jackie Knight, who played a pivotal role in the success of the Taskforce to date and to every member of the team, as well as the local policing colleagues we work alongside.

“We know there is still a long way to go in terms of reducing the number of retail crimes occurring each day across the country, but we’re committed to using all resources at our disposal and working alongside key partners and retail industry colleagues to do just that.”

The Retail Crime Taskforce recently announced the launch of quarterly Microsoft Teams meetings especially for independent and small retailers. If you’d like to get involved and hear the latest developments email the Taskforce.
