Musselburgh retailer aims to introduce home delivery service

Retailer Ferhan Ashiq, who runs Levenhall Village Store in Musselburgh, is seeking permission to start a home delivery service – including alcohol – from East Lothian’s licensing board.

If approved the home delivery service, which would run seven days a week between the hours of 8am and 9pm, will be run via Snappy Shopper.

However, alcohol sales would be restricted to 10am and 9pm with a one-hour protection period for deliveries.

Ferhan stated in the application: “In order to protect the business’ survival, one of our growth strategies is to deliver our grocery and alcohol straight to the end customer’s home.”

The proposal will be heard at East Lothian’s licensing board’s meeting on 23 February.
