KP Snacks has launched brand-new McCoy’s Coated Peanuts as the brand enters the Tasty Nuts category, with Flame Grilled Steak and Salt & Malt Vinegar rolling into stores from mid‑March in a £1.35 PMP.
The move marks ridged crisp brand McCoy’s first venture beyond crisps. Golden peanuts are coated in a crunchy outer shell and then infused with McCoy’s flavours.
McCoy’s Coated Peanuts use KP Nuts, with each pack featuring a KP stamp.
By debuting in the Tasty Nuts category, McCoy’s aims to attract new customers to coated nuts while capitalising on a segment currently worth £41m. The range also taps into the strength of the PMP segment in the convenience and impulse channel, worth £343.1m and growing +5.4% ahead of the overall category. With PMPs driving 71% of bagged snacks sales in independent stores, the £1.35 PMP aligns with current purchasing patterns.
The McCoy’s brand is worth £199.2m and growing ahead of the category at +5%.
Beth George, Senior Brand Manager at McCoy’s, said: “We’re dialling up visibility with high‑impact media and POS to capture consumer attention and drive interest in the new range.”
